Our Luxe NYC Staycation: French Flair and Bougie Vibes
Although we live in New York, we’re forever making new and exciting discoveries. During our most recent staycation here in the city to celebrate Krystina’s birthday we found a few gems to add to our list of faves. Gabe chose the theme “French & Bougie” and these spots most definitely fit the bill!
Places To Stay: The Dominick - Luxe Rooms and Rooftop Pool For A Perfect NYC Staycation
📍 The Dominick
We stayed at The Dominick Hotel. The hotel not only offers the bougie vibes we were after but also has a feature that was a must on Gabe’s staycation checklist…a pool! The rooftop pool is the perfect touch to a summer stay. The water temperature was on point and there were loungers surrounding the pool and cabanas at your disposal if you so wish. As well, there is an onsite restaurant where you can order light bites or cocktails at either the indoor or outdoor bar.
Now To The Rooms!
Two words immediately come to mind when thinking of the rooms at The Dominick Hotel: luxe and spacious. Upon entering you step into the massive bedroom with a windowed wall where you can take in a lovely view of the city. The bathroom features a spacious soaking tub from which you can still take in the gorgeous city skyline, shower, double vanity sinks, and private toilet.
Their Customer Service Was 👌
During our NYC Staycation the room had a minor issue with a leak which gave us the opportunity to see their customer service in action. As soon as we reported the issue, maintenance was to the room straight away assessing the problem and coming up with a real time solution. They moved us to a new room and comped the resort fees for the inconvenience. As avid travelers it speaks volumes to us about the establishment and management when they’re able to be accountable and take action in real time.
Aside from proactively fixing an issue they were also invested in the reason for our stay. Prior to arrival they inquired if we were celebrating anything special and Gabe informed them of Krystina’s birthday. Thinking nothing more of it, we arrived and checked into the room where moments later we received a knock at the door and a package of celebratory cupcakes from the hotel. It’s truly the little things that go a long way. Their attention to detail and desire for us to have the best stay possible was evident at every turn.
Places to Eat: Indulging in French Flavors in NYC
You guessed it, here’s where the French comes in. The amount of French influence in this corner of the city is massive but here are the standouts that we partook in.
📍 Bisou Wine Bar
They have both indoor and outdoor seating, great vibes, and friendly staff. This was the perfect spot to start our night. The charcuterie board was the perfect size and absolutely delicious!
📍 La Sirene
We absolutely loved the intimate vibe and feel of this spot, perfect for the date night vibes we were after. The flavors of each dish were tasty and perfectly portioned.
📍 Balthazar
The perfect Parisian brunch spot. The outdoor seating was definitely a highlight for us; perfect for soaking up the sun and people watching. The pastry sampler we had was scrumptious and the cappuccino was chefs kiss.
Places To Enjoy: Unwind at Saint Tuesday for Speakeasy Vibes and Live Music
📍 Saint Tuesday
Everything you could want from a speakeasy. We absolutely loved the live band and the craft cocktails. Perfect chill intimate vibes.

Our "French & Bougie" themed NYC staycation to celebrate Krystina’s birthday was nothing short of amazing! From the luxurious stay at The Dominick Hotel to indulging in exquisite French cuisine and discovering hidden gems, we had an unforgettable experience.
The Dominick Hotel provided us with everything we wanted and more. The rooftop pool was the perfect summer retreat, and the spacious rooms offered stunning views of the city skyline. Their exceptional customer service, especially the thoughtful birthday surprise for Krystina, made our stay extra special.
We savored delicious French flavors at Bisou Wine Bar, La Sirene, and Balthazar, each offering unique vibes and delightful dishes. And our evening at Saint Tuesday, with its live music and craft cocktails, was the perfect way to cap off our staycation.
